Class 5

Class 5 - Mrs J Smith and Mrs S Seguin

Welcome to Class 5!

Wow - we are now in our penultimate year at St Michael's and this year, like every other, will be jam-packed with lots of learning, fun and laughter along the way.

In English this year, we will be delving into some fabulous texts as part of our Literacy Tree scheme, from which we will be basing our writing upon. (Mrs Smith is exceptionally excited about developing us into sophisticated writers as Year 5 sees the introduction of more complex grammar and punctuation!)

Our maths this year will focus on consolidating and deepening our understanding of key mathematical concepts, ensuring that we have secured our knowledge. Reasoning and problem solving will play a pivotal role in our maths lessons.

In science, we will be launching ourselves into space to learn about the solar system system, exploring forces, investigating materials and their properties, learning about life cycles and further developing our knowledge of living things.

Not forgetting history, geography, computing, PE, music, French, art and DT - every half term will be full of opportunities to develop our skills across the curriculum.

We hope that you'll pop by to find out about some of our great achievements throughout the year.
