St Michael's C of E Primary School

Nursery

Welcome to Bluebell Class!

We are St. Michael's very first nursery class; we may be the youngest children in the school but we are ready for some great learning adventures.

Together, with Miss Leigh, our teacher, and Mrs Couchman, our teaching assistant, we will be navigating our way through the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. Along the way, we will be developing our mathematical understanding; expanding our vocabulary; enhancing our fine and gross motor skills; exploring the world around us; as well as growing socially and emotionally.

Because we are part of St Michael's, we are very lucky that our learning is underpinned by the school's curriculum. As the year progresses, we will be introduced to Little Wandle, our school phonics scheme.

Books are a very important part of our school and nursery is no exception. During the year, we will be getting to know some very familiar characters as we delve into the world of traditional tales and lots of our learning activities will be based around these stories. Some of our activities will be adult led whilst other will be child initiated. We are lucky to have the opportunity to complete activities and investigations both inside our classroom and in our outside area.
