Homework
Mathletics (Y1-Y6)
We subscribe to Mathletics and weekly homework is set for Y1-Y6. Teachers will set work based on what children have been learning that week or their previous learning. This will be set weekly on a Friday; teachers will be able to view any tasks completed. If you have any issues logging on, please speak to your child's class teacher.

Times Tables Challenge (Y1 -Y6)
This year, children will be participating in their own personal number facts/times tables challenge. Each week, classes will have dedicated time for children to complete their times table challenge. Teachers will have assessed a child's current level and will give children either a number fact or times table to focus on for that week. Please note, the children will not have a paper copy or online learning set but can practise these in any way they want at home. They may want to use Times Table Rock Stars to help them with this. (We are currently setting up Y2 & Y3 with their accounts and logins will be sent home shortly; Y4 -Y6 should already have their accounts but please speak to your child's class teacher if you have any issues logging on.) Once children achieve full marks on a three minute speed test, they will then move on to the next level. There are currently 28 levels although we are busy writing more!

Spelling (R&Y1)
Children will be sent home with a weekly 'Elmer' sheet, which will contain high frequency words to learn to spell. These will be reviewed 1:1 with their teacher each week.
Spelling (Y2-Y6)
Following feedback from parents, we will now be issuing paper spelling homework that will consolidate learning that has taken place during spelling lessons in class. This will be issued weekly on a Friday; if completed, children should return it to school the following Friday. Children will not be receiving spelling lists to learn each week but can practise either the high frequency words or statutory word list for their year group. Class teachers will send this home shortly.

Reading (N - Y6)
We ask that children read or are read to daily for a minimum of ten minutes: Reading really is the key that unlocks a world of discovery for children and daily time spent reading has proven to have a huge impact on children's future success. Any reading done at home should be recorded in your child's reading record.
Homework Projects (R - Y6)
Each half term, children are given three tasks to choose from, which link to that half term's learning. Any completed homework projects are shared in class at the end of half term. The poster detailing these tasks are emailed as part of the class information sent by teachers at the start of each half term.
If you have any questions regarding homework, please do speak to your child's class teacher.
